Aurora Soccer Club | Legends

With the long and storied past at the ASC, there have been a number of legends across our fields and through our doors. As a dedication to all those who have walked amongst us or currently sit in our midst, we thank you all for your contributions and dedication to the Club and its members.

ASC Memorials

This section is dedicated to the memory of past Club members who have passed on, however because of their committment and passion for the Aurora Soccer Club, they shall never be forgotten.

Alan John Lavery

May 19, 1957 - Dec. 14, 2009 :
Past President and great friend to many at the ASC, Alan left us far too soon, but with many good memories. A sad occasion for us all, Alan's thoughtful ways, hard work and above all, his humour will always be remembered. Alan's selfless ways are best remembered by his own words at a past fundraiser, where he described the Club as a community that stands behind each other and helps each other during the tough times.

In memory of our friend, Alan, we'll remember him best by the words of those closest to him, in the poem written by his daughter Suzanne:

Suzanne’s Poem

We were not ready to say good-bye
To my father who was so dear
Dad, if it were up to all of us
We'd always keep you near

God has good reasons
Good plans in which we trust
Safe you are with angels now
Believing that is a must

All I have are memories
And photo’s in a frame
The beliefs you have instilled in me
Because of you, I became

We are all shocked that you are gone
Our hearts are filled with tears and grief
I know you’re with the angels now
But your days were just too brief

You are in front of me
Beside me, and behind
And every memory that I have
Is locked safely in my mind

Shining down from the heavens
You are my bright star
Guiding Mum, myself and John now
We know you will never be far

Kenny McDonald

ASC Past President | Ken McDonald

Kenny McDonald, ASC Past President, was rarely seen without his Aurora Soccer Club jacket. His dedication and committment to the Club, even during tough times, is well known. Kenny was respected among local soccer enthusiasts for his friendy demeanor, committment to the task at hand, and continual willingness to help out, no matter what the situation. Kenny's memory and smile will always be with us and we proudly remember our times together.
